Американцы используют выражение to get one's ducks in a row (выстроить в ряд своих уток), что означает привести в порядок свои мысли, собраться с мыслями, прибрать всё аккуратно. Слово «утки», однако, ничего общего не имеет с утками, которые плавают в деревенском пруду. Ducks — это кегли, и смысл фразы заключается в тщательной расстановке кеглей перед первым ударом шара.
